Before bidding

Please make sure that your current address is stored with eBay. Please only bid on an item if you really wish to purchase it. eBay bids are legally binding. In the case of unreliable bidders eBay administrates exclusion from eBay. For further information please read the eBay-conditions. Should you have questions concerning the item or processing then kindly contact us before bidding. Please do not bid until you are certain that it concerns the item you would like to purchase.

After purchase

You do not have to contact us at the end of the auction. We will automatically contact you. If you still haven't received an e-mail from us concerning the purchasing process within 24 hours after the end of the auction please contact us. Please also check your SPAM-filter and the sub-files of your e-mail mailbox (possibly your mail provider has displaced our mail there).

Purchasing process

We collect all orders which you place during a period of 7 days for the purpose of cutting costs for shipping and handling. After each purchase you will receive a summary of your orders from us. After concluding your purchases please complete the purchasing process all the way until the end by activating the hyperlink in the confirmation mail so that we receive all information for the processing of your order.

In the course of the purchasing process you are able to specify a different delivery address, change product details if further options are available (e.g. colour or size) and to select your requested payment method. Possible payment methods are Paypal, credit card and bank transfer. The total price for your orders (including delivery charges) will then be indicated. C.O.D. deliveries are not offered.

For reasons of liability we only ship insured packages independent of size and price of the item.

Should you like to pick up the purchased item yourself in order to save on shipping and handling charges please let us know beforehand, so that we can have your item ready.

Delivery time

We ship immediately after receipt of payment. Please be informed that a bank transfer can take up to 5 weekdays.
Runtime for a package amounts to three to four weekdays. Please take this runtime into account. Should a weekend or holiday be at hand then the runtime will be prolonged accordingly.

Invoice

Each shipment includes an invoice with indicated VAT. The invoice is also proof of warranty.

Feedback

Everyone will receive feedback from us. You do not have to request it; we have a continuous feedback cycle – usually at the end of the week. Please be a little patient, we will not forget you!

Damages in transit

As a basic principle damages in transit can only be accepted if they are notified immediately after receipt of goods, 48 hours at the latest, in the written form or via e-mail (service@maxtrader.de). Punctual posting ensures meeting the deadline.

Transit damages which are visible from the outside as well as ones first found after opening the package are to be disclosed to our parcel service UPS immediately after receipt of shipment in the form of a report. This is incumbent on the customer as well as immediate notification of the transit damages to Max Trader. A breach of these obligations will result in exclusion from compensation claims.

If the customer informed us in due time that the goods were damaged in transit or lost then MAX Trader will immediately claim compensation from the causer or file for a request for investigation regarding the whereabouts of the goods. MAX Trader is not obligated to initiate compensation delivery or refund purchasing price to the customer as long as the transit damage has not been clearly asserted or the investigation has not yet been concluded.

Customer service is available during our office hours. Beyond these hours, please do not hesitate to contact us by email. Usually, we will reply within 48 hours (except weekends and national holidays).

In the display texts of our items for sale on Ebay, we try to give as much information as possible about our products. However, do not hesitate to contact us in case you need information on something that you can not find in the display text or at our me-site.

Pick up items
You can pick up purchased items during our office hours in our warehouse in Essen. Due to organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to give us a call some time before you plan to visit us.

01. When will I get the information on the bank account that I have to make payments to? What happens after my purchase?

Within 12 hours of your purchase, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail with a direct link to our checkout page containing all relevant information regarding the purchase and payment procedures. This will include the Bank details and also give you the option to change your Shipping Address (within Paypal’s guidelines if you paid via Paypal). Please make sure that you go through all of the steps carefully, so that we get all of the information required to process your order (this is especially important for e.g. your choice of colour or size). Without this information, we will not be able to ship your order immediately after we have received your payment!

07. How do you calculate the shipping costs when shipping more then one item?

For Outdoor Products, the heaviest item determines in which weight category the order will be shipped.

For Watches, additional items are charged at 1 Pound/Euro per item.

Faulty items will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

Upon receipt and satisfactory inspection of the goods at our premises we will issue a refund.

12. What is the difference between guarantee and warranty?

Warranty means that the seller is responsible for selling only such products that are in a faultless condition and free of all defects of title. The seller is held responsible for all defects that have existed at the time of the purchase and those that have become visible at a later time (so called hidden defect). The condition of the item at the time of delivery is decisive. Since 1/1/2002 the legal time period in which a warranty has to be granted (§ 437 German BGB) is 24 month; with second hand items it can be reduced to 12 months. In all cases, the customer is required to contact the seller should there be any defect.

A guarantee is a voluntary, additional service offered by a seller or a manufacturer. Note that a seller is not obliged to hand a manufacturer's guarantee on to a customer. The guarantee always refers to the functionality of certain parts of the item (or the whole item) for a certain period of time. The condition of the item at the time of delivery is not decisive, because the functionality of certain parts of the item (or the whole item) has been granted for a certain period of time. Depending on weather the seller or the manufacturer has issued the guarantee; the customer has to contact the issuing party. The issuing party has to prove that the defect has not yet existed at the time of delivery.

For customers it is important to note that a guarantee cannot under any circumstances replace the legally obligatory warranty. It is also illegal to reduce the warranty in terms of duration and coverage. So please note that a guarantee is always an additional service.

The invoice is your certificate of guarantee.

14. What is a "water column"?

"Water column" refers to a unit of measurement, which describes the density of e.g. technical fabrics (such as in tents, functional- and rain gear). The unit "water column" describes to which amount a certain fabric tolerates water before it penetrates the fabric. Fabrics are considered waterproof when they tolerate a certain water column (raingear 1,3m, flysheets 1,5m and tent floors 2m).
